Chad turned 32

Even though Chad said he didn't want to do anything for his birthday, I insisted that we go out. We met up with Kevin, Cara, and Nicol (she left before I broke out the camera) at Shay's Pub and Wine Bar in Harvard Square. It's a great little bar with a nice beer selection and wouldn't you know - Chad had fun : )

Thank you, Mollie!

As a bridal party gift, Mollie treated us to handbags - the most ridiculously perfect gift ever. And even better, we got to pick out the style and design! After lunch today, Mollie and I stopped by 1154 Lill to pick mine up and Mollie finally got to design one of her own.

Cookie Dough Ice Cream

A couple of nights ago Chad was a little sour because there wasn't any ice cream in our place. So, I decided I would make some for him yesterday - his second favorite behind mint chocolate chip - Chocolate chip cookie dough. It was actually really simple. Just used the vanilla ice cream recipe from the ice cream machine manual and made half a batch of cookie dough off the back of the Nestle's chocolate chip bag - mix the two up once they were finished - freeze for a few hours - and YUMMINESS!

Dexter got a haircut

Almost a month ago, Chad took Dexter to get his summer cut. What a difference in the before and after.

Virginia Visit

Since I have lots of extra time on my hands, I thought I would use some of it to visit my family in Virginia. I was home for a about a week and it was so much fun. I can't believe how big Liam is and how sassy Emma has become! Kendall and Kaitlyn are 12 today - they're getting so old!

I DID IT!

I actually ran a race! I was so proud of myself (is that okay to say?)! It started out as a chilly and windy morning, but it turned out to be really wonderful race weather. There were some potholey streets and traffic to deal with, but all in all I'm really glad I did it. I ran 8 1/2 minute miles and my finishing time was 42:30 - yippee! That's great considering I thought I was running 10 minute miles.

I must admit that I am not any more a fan of running than I was before. I thought training for a 5-mile race would be kind of fun. Umm... not really. I find running to be kind of tedious. I'll still do it once or twice a week as part of my cardio, but not the 4/5 times a week before when I was training. On the suprising side, my friend, Maxine, has asked me to do a race with her and I actually agreed! I'm hoping this next one will be more fun than the last.
